(1-2) Love is superior to spiritual gifts in and of themselves. Alan Redpath said one could get a spiritual suntan from the warmth of this chapter. If you tear it apart too much, you lose the beauty. Campbell Morgan wrote that examining this chapter is like dissecting a flower to understand it. (You’ve heard of “FOMO”-fear of missing out- this would be “FOBN”-fear of being naked….G. Because some days, that is the only motivation for actually doing the laundry. I still might make a “laundry today or naked tomorrow” sign at some point…. If you want to have “Let all you do be done in love” up in your home, but don’t have time to make your own sign, I also created a ready-made printable!
QUOTES LET ALL THAT YOU DO BE DONE IN LOVE 1 CORINTHIANS FREE
(And since I have extra cards, you will probably see them show up in other places around the house soon too!) Free “Let all you do be done in love” Printable Just being silly, but aren’t the hymn cards pretty? I think the colors and beautiful font (I already confessed my love of fonts) are perfect for in here. Joanna Gaines actually let me personally peruse Magnolia and buy some things online! (Wait? It’s a public domain? Everyone can shop there? And here I thought we were BFFs!)

Those hymn cards are from Magnolia (nope, I haven’t been to Waco yet, they were a great Christmas gift I got to pick out with a gift card. All that had to be done was nailing them up using our handy dandy nail gun (great Black Friday find with my mom), and hot gluing some clothespins I pilfered from the canister on the new counter top! We used 3 of the place mats and a piece of primed trim we had in our shed. I had them on hand already, but a 4 pack will cost you $4.99. (You know, the place I think of in my head when Tiffany sings, “Ooh baby do ya know what that’s worth? Ooh heaven is a place on earth”….yep, IKEA! Bwahaha!) Interested in the wall art that’s just below the sign? I go through the exact “Cheater Method” I use in detail in this post here.

Use this DIY Sign Method! It’s Foolproof!

I just printed out the template (the link is in the graphic at the end of the post), scribbled on the back, traced the letters, and then used a paint pen. The laundry might not be thrilling, but I can do it and serve my family with a joyful heart. Seeing the quote from 1 Corinthians 16:14 (hopefully) will get my attitude back on track. I mean, the nerve of those SAME pesky clothes! They just keep getting dirty.) So, even though my squeaky clean, beautiful new laundry room is creating a euphoric feeling for me right now, I’m pretty sure there will be a time when I will be grumbling about the laundry (at least in my head). (Shocker Alert: it’s not my favorite household task. (I’m all for the humorous signs- remember the sign I have here?) BUT I thought it would be good to have something on the wall that would remind me to check my attitude about doing the laundry. The alternative would have read: “Laundry today or naked tomorrow”, but I decided on something a bit more “subdued”. This project kind of went about that way. Read a verse in the Bible and it really spoke to your heart? Put it on a sign! If you want a sign from a Jane Austen book, BAM, you go ahead and quote Miss Austen, sister! Feeling a David Bowie song? Rock those “Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes”. Have you seen the price tags on some of those suckers? So, what’s a gal to do?Īnd you know what? That’s even BETTER because then you are no longer at the mercy of what Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, and Target have. BUT, looking at said “art” doesn’t typically lead to buying. I love looking at textual art (ahem…that’s the fancy term for signs). And isn’t that the whole goal for the things you have in your home? (I mean, the trash can doesn’t exactly make me smile, but you get what I’m trying to say….) Signs basically just wrap those things all together and put them in a little hang-able medley of cuteness. Typically not just any project, but a sign. And if you know me, that means a project is on the horizon. I got pretty much everything done with this room that I had wanted to accomplish, BUT when we were working on this space we ended up having some leftover wood. I have loved reading through them! This is such a great idea that Erin at Lemons, Lavender, & Laundry came up with! While looking at those, be sure to check out some of the other blogs that participated (you will find the links at the end of the posts). Check out the progress we made on the laundry room in the posts here: before pics, week 2, week 3, reveal. Just in case you missed the posts, I took part in the $100 Room Challenge this January (along with 40 other bloggers). Well, it’s been a couple weeks since the laundry room reveal and I’m still smitten! I actually haven’t dreaded doing the laundry at ALL and it’s so much easier to get to things that are being stored in there now! (Win, Win, BIG TIME WIN!)
