I used a combination of real blue cinderella pumpkins, a few real but painted pumpkins, and a few painted but faux pumpkins. I kept the fall colors and textures the same out here but simply added more blues to accentuate the blue on my front door and porch ceiling.Īlthough I love traditional fall colors, I like to vary my decorating from year to year. Dried limelight hydrangeas and pumpkins in shades of blues and creams are a great way to add non-traditional fall colors to your space. However, this year I really wanted the front porch to feel like a cohesive extension of the interior. When decorating my outdoor spaces, sometimes I like to create a completely different look and feel than what I have going on inside the home. Our porch used to be painted red and green, and this year was the first time I was able to decorate it in its new gray and blue color palette. I shared my fall home tour last week, so today I thought I would give you some fall porch decorating ideas. I adore fall porches and was so excited to decorate ours this year.

If you are stopping by from my friend Melissa’s at The Inspired Room, welcome! Her home is as lovely as she is, so be sure to check out her fall photos. I just had the privilege of seeing Lindsay at a BHG event in NYC last week. I love how they instantly add the fall vibes, yet blend perfectly with the overall neutral look of my regular home decor too.Happy first day of autumn! Today I am joining the fall tour hosted by Lindsay from White Buffalo Styling Co. In my entryway, I added a few of these cute little concrete pumpkins ( find my DIY HERE for similar ones) and a basket of dried gourds. In fact, I wrote an entire blog post about dried gourds because I love them soooo much! You can find all of my favorite ways to decorate and style with them over on THIS POST. At the same time, I don’t have to re-purchase them every year. One of the great things about dried gourds is that you can use them year after year, so I actually use them more than pumpkins! I love that I still get the natural, organic look for fall decor. One of the things I love most about fall decorating is that you can make an entire space look ready for fall by simply adding a pretty pumpkin or two to your regular decor! I love getting some real pumpkins and placing them around our home for some fall color, texture, and plain fun!ĭried gourds are also a great option. #7: You can’t really have fall decor without some pumpkins or gourds, right?! While we don’t usually actually sit on the chippy white thrifted bench in our small entryway, we could if we needed to! A bench or chair invites a family member or guest to come on in and take a break! Tip: Add some simple decoration to your bench or chair to avoid having it become a catch all!Įven if it is just a simple throw pillow or fall scarf tossed over the seat, it is still usable yet less likely to become the drop zone! After all, we are going for pretty and welcoming fall entryway decor ideas here, not the mudroom! If possible, include a bench or chair in your entryway. It’s so tiny that guests are really forced to go right into the family room or left into the music room quite quickly! However, I still want it to tell a story of a curated, lived-in, cozy home. In all actuality, our formal entryway is really more for looks than anything. Whether you have a large entryway with a pretty table and room for a bench or chairs, or whether your entryway is a small bench by the front door, your furniture choices make a statement! #2: Consider your furniture needs with your fall entryway decor ideas If you want to add some extra texture, try a basket! You can see how I made pretty door baskets in 3 easy steps over on THIS POST just substitute THESE stems instead! I am using the same wreaths that I’ve had for a couple of years now because they have held up great and I still love them! You can find a similar one HERE! I also love the soft colors and unique style of THIS one!

Next, add a pretty wreath or basket filled with fall stems. I also love the adjustable style of THIS wreath hanger, and it comes in a lot of different finishes to coordinate with your door handles. This one has worked great for me for several years now.

I love to use a wreath hanger that complements the style and design of our home. I really love to use either a wreath or basket, filled with seasonal stems.įirst, start with a great wreath hanger! If you prefer, command hooks also work great. It all begins at the front door! Even if you have a small porch (or maybe no porch at all), you can still create a welcoming look by hanging a fall home decor accessory on your front door. 1: How do I decorate my front door in the fall?
